About the event
Established in Montgomery, Alabama, Symphony Q Academy of Dance is The capital city’s first black-owned comprehensive dance academy, offering classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, hip hop, and many more. SQAD now welcomes over 90 local kids, from age four to teens, through its doors each week.
Its inaugural performance of the academy and the inaugural company dancers, will showcase the talents of children from three years upwards in a variety of dance styles and genres, with our senior company performing variations from Minkus: “Paquita” and works of the dance faculty Jerome Stigler, James Atkinson, and owner/founder Quan Serita Littleton and guest choreographer Whitney Coleman! A real historical celebration of the talents of our local dance students!
The show is free admission. We are accepting donations to help our school grow. Our goal is to make classical ballet and contemporary dance accessible to any talented child with a dream of being a professional dancer.
